I happen to believe that economics and politics are not sciences - as has been proved by several economists not having a clue about being in classic bubble.
As someone who thought so and whose bank balance has been considerably enhanced by my judgement of how the economy was going, yes, I do believe I have something to say on the matter. The proof is in the pudding.
As for politics, give me a break.
I would not however pronounce on matters of physics, biology, epi or others.
As opposed to economics & politics I suppose, which you are happy to spout off about yourself?

When it comes to swine flu, please let us not hear your cretinous wittering and absurd projections about the spread of swine flu.
There is an academic discipline called Epidemiology (look it up you morons) that requires several years of training and experience.
After you have done that, I just might listen to your projections - until then please try and confine the random firings of your (reduced number of) neurons to yourself.

Apparently, 1 in 5 people in the world are Chinese. And there are 5 people in my family, so it must be one of them. It's either my mum or my dad. Or my older brother Colin.
Or my younger brother Ho-Chau-Chou. But I think it's Colin.

Thank you.
A most sensible post. Somewhat of a rarity in these parts

Mind you, it is fun watching the ridiculous arguments. It is an education in itself.
But I do find it both disappointing and frightening how people will take one headline and believe it to the point that they will significantly change their behaviour.
