    I happen to be currently living in a resort town and wokring just 5 mins from the sea - Oh I do like to be beside the seaside !

    Contractor - don't do holidays. Let all the permies go on holiday so I can sit around the office with nothing to do and rake it in then take time off and do spontaneous things. My last contract the manager told me to take a holiday otherwise I'd burn out, I replied 'how? Doing what? This contract is a holiday.' Remember I already live in a foreign land so its like being on holiday all the time. During the summer it is pretty damn hot here so I can get up, slowly, go into town, sit in a cafe in the centre drinking Eis Cafe watching all the pretty girls go by then off to the Biergarten. Why sit on a beach or look at all the touristy things with loads of other people the same as you?

    For some obscure reasons a long weekend in England is turning into a overly long stay.

    I think I shall escape in the next day or so and go watch the Tour de France in person, rather than over the net.
