Murray is not best known for ill considered sliding tackles that could easily cripple his opponent and get himself sent off.
I imagine he is not much good 30 yards out without a racket either.

    Appart from that, good call.

And while he's at it I reckon should remember to thank nature for sending the astroids that took out the dinosaurs 240 million years ago...

    ...he's such a barsteward.

    Great thing about Murray

Is that since he's Scottish we can claim him and if he loses well tennis its not really a Scottish game is it?

I think there's a massive amount of weight put on a throw away comment he made as as a joke as a teenager about supporting anyone but england.

Sampras was American, so all you have to go on is charisma. Personally I don't find Federer all that charismatic either, and he can get petulant when things don't go his way ... but he's a phenomenal player.
Were he playing, I would be behind nadal - that guy is on the verge of being the best player that ever lived, if his body holds out (a very big if by the looks of things). As it is, I want roddick to win - purely because I think this is his last chance. The roddick/hewitt game was stunning.

Although the fact that federer is about to play his 21st consecutive grand slam semi-final does open the eyes somewhat!

And I don't agree that everyone will like him if he wins 3 or 4 slams. Lots of people didn't like sampras because of his personality bypass either, and I seem to remember him winning once or twice.

I'm sure people will warm to him once he's won 3 or 4 grand slams.

That thing about the crowd was a bit harsh really - sticking a microphone in his face 90 seconds after he's finished 4 hours of tennis was a bit off.

You're kind of implying he's arrogant, which he's not, as far as I've seen anyway. He's just not very charismatic. There was a time in the country (Eh by gum lad) when not trying to warm a crowd up for the sake of it was a good thing.

I've seen him on soccer am a couple of times, and he actually comes across as a really nice guy, with a sense of humour - he just doesn't seem to have the gift in front of the camera.

Shoot him - clearly it's not enough to have a potential wimbledon winner on our hands, he's got to be a media star as well.

If he thinks everyone in the crowd will be behind him tomorrow, he's in for a big shock. I expect a big bunch of support for Roddick - he's a very popular guy. I doubt that will bother him though.
