Gas meter readers aren't on a great deal more than minimum wage anyway.Originally posted by pzz76077 View PostI think that all IT contractors should all be on no more than 40k/year as well. While we are about it, the guy that reads the gas meter - 20 quid a month max.

I suppose timberwolf using the term modern medicine is a compliment to all the doctors over the last few hundred years building up the science. If we all had the view that you get sick going to the doctors then we would still be getting leaches applied for genital warts. I am sure timberwolf will be thankful of this next time he goes down with a dose of the clap.

I will just ditch my Asthma medication then and if I get carried into hospital and asked why I decided to stop treating myself I will tell the doctor someone in the internet told me it would be OK not to take them anymore.Originally posted by contractor79 View PostGood point. As does the way his £billion fortune was drained out of him to leave a disfigured hollowed out bank balance a body that might not be biodegradable. Given the opportunity, would modern medicine do that to entire economies too? Is that what you want? Or is it time we saw the medical profession for what it really is, and that is a parasitic organsim populated by grossly overpaid, egotistical scumbags who just want all your money, a big pension, house and early retirement? And a yacht?
Wouldn't it be better if medical professionals were paid the same as a bus driver, much like in Cuba, or perhaps modern medical practise replaced by cheaper and equally effective Voodoo medicine? After all isn’t it a fact that the healthiest people are those that never see a doctor?

I still find it amazing that this doughnut can call a doctor a parasite. Why do I just know that he would never have the balls to say that to one's face?
Time to stop feeding this troll I think. Personally, I'd like to knock him though a wall.

You can have a go at dentists though if you wish.

One of these is about right as a quote for Voltaire:Originally posted by TimberWolf View PostActually if you speak to a decent doctor, he (or she) will willingly admit that it the body that heals itself. In most cases medical treatment just helps the healing process along a bit.
"A doctor is a person who entertains the patient, while the body heals itself."
"Medicine is what we do to entertain the patient while the body heals itself."

But would the Daily Mail say it was a "Twisted bus driver moonlights as GP" or "Twisted GP moonlights as bus driver".Originally posted by Amiga500 View PostWhat about a bus driving GP?

Sure about that? I grew up in a mining town, and I know lots of people who were miners, and there's a common theme of lots and lots of lazy bastards who worked doon the pits (Not all obviously) and liked going for a kip for their shift ...Originally posted by TimberWolf View Postcoal miner isn't a cushy number either.

What do you think? A farmer would be a better example than butcher though, and strictly speaking the host should remain alive, although in these cases the host and parasite would be more abstract entities, rather than individual creatures.
