    I have this, er, 'friend' , who has done this twice

    1. There was another contractor, who 'came out' of the closet at the Christmas bash and made a prat of his gaylord self. So my , er, friend (definately not me) was leaving, he bought a big tin of Roses choccies for the ladies, a big box of miniature heroes for the guys, and a big finger of fudge 'for those fudge packers who are not too sure'

    2. Same , er 'friend' was on a big NHS migration. On leaving he presented choccies and a big yellow 'Project Management for dummies' to the contractor PM.

    <cough>

    Just don't let it worry you.

    At the moment cut all costs and just pile any earnings into your warchest.

    That is why you need to put some distance between him and you. You don't want his issues to bite you too.

    She could have just about blagged it in the title but agreed, the “Don’t give any un-billable advise” is a howler

    Par for the course at the moment. It happened on my last contract and we were asked to train up our much cheapness replacements. It wasn't worth making waves and I'd say if the contractor has been there for years then he's ripped the @rse out of that contract and should move on.

    That's a permie trick.

    The contractor sounds like a permie idiot. Personally I'd distance myself from them and let them get on with it.

    Personally I wouldn't do that. Someone did that to me once and I wouldn't lower myself to that.
