Not seen it yet, went to see Wolverine instead.
6.5/10. Fight sequences and CGI were pretty, plot and acting were pants.

I've seen that. Pah! Who's ever heard of silent rockets?Originally posted by zeitghostI suggest you watch 2001: A Space Odyssey instead.
If you want realism I suggest Fireball XL5. They took oxygen pills so they could walk and talk in space without a sealed spacesuit.

Do the weapons and spaceships still make whooshes and bangs in the vacuum of space?

I thought that C
Karl Uban as "bones" nailed it pretty well.
Funny how I aint watched the series in like 20 years and I still remember the character well.
Yes and the Spok character was fairly bang on.
Interesting how the Space battles are now more dynamic i.e. not like olde naval ship captain, fire cannons in turn on enemy ship etc. the ship now just swoops down on the enemy, quite impressive.
I thought the character of Spock was bang on and he was fairly kick ass with the action. Thought the Kirk character was a bit poor on hand to hand though !Last edited by eliquant; 11 May 2009, 05:52.

What an excellent critique. You must be the sockpuppet I mislaid.Originally posted by mrdonuts View Postthe new spock was excellent , rest of cast were pants
I was disappointed there were none of those giant alien lizards. Although to be frank, I wonder whether they would have been up to it if the encounter with wiggy was anything to go by.

I thought Chris Pine as Kirk was pretty good - even looked a lot like Shatner in his younger days!

I had yesterday off so managed to catch the first showing at my local cinema (benefit: nice and quiet, I hate going in the evenings/weekends with the rest of the population).
Absolutely stunning, I loved every minute and had a smile on my face for most of the film.
