What they do do, is say to you when you're young is "you're welcome to come along any time in the next x years and we'll assess you". That allows young people to think about it, take exams, go travelling, try out civvie street etc. before making a decision.
It's not a guaranteed place at all.
So basically.... he's a deluded arse.

They had roughly 9 hours to sell the items.
1 hour - evaluating items
1 hour putting some items on ebay, amazon, gumtree, etc.
Get on with selling the others, if no offers from web, then take those items and sell them face to face as well.
To be honest, not sure if Ebay have a minimum time for an auction. If they do, then obviously its an issue.
But point is, it was a strategy that "could" have been considered, but wasn't...or at least we weren't shown it..

Take last night's episode.....how come not one of them thought to use the da web for a bit of research/evaluating the prices. They would probably have sold the items a lot faster by putting them on ebay as well.

The Apprentice is merely a platform for nursing the egos of idiots.

There is a long outstanding rumour in the Guards Brigade that Robert Lawrence (he of "Tumbledown" fame as portrayed by Colin Firth) was fragged.
