China’s leadership is likely to avoid any complete halt to purchases of Treasuries for fear of appearing to be torpedoing American chances for an economic recovery at a vulnerable time, said Paul Tang, the chief economist at the Bank of East Asia here.
“This is a political decision,” he said. “This is not purely an investment decision.”

China is going to have big problems in the next few years, unemployment has went up 10 million since the summer.
There will be a flashpoint soon which will bring massive unrest.

They need the money to import food i've been told. Apparently they have started concreting over so many former rice paddies that there is an imminent food shortage on the horizion and with the recent increase in the rice price much of the population will slip below the breadline shortly.Originally posted by BlasterBates View Post
