The 2nd is much more likely (though I have been shafted by the 1st in the past). Negotiating the rate to you is the pivotal part of the action for an agent: that's where he determines how much income he gets. Unfortunately he does it more often than you, with better knowledge.

To be honest I've been feeling a little less than my usual optimistic self just lately and I haven't felt like posting much. I've been on the bench for several months now.Originally posted by zara_backdog View PostWell done Pogle.
Haven't heard from you from you for a while - trust you are OK!
I had the interview from hell on Tuesday and walked away from it feeling like tulip - only to have a job offer the next day, so I'm MUCH better now.
Although I have no idea what the project is as they couldn't tell me in the interview - or they'd have to shoot me

I'm sure you've resisted the urge to jam this particularly nice news firmly in the eye of the Agent that tried to place you at the massively lower figure.

look, there is no right answer to a situation like this, there are too many permutations. You just have to adopt a strategy and stick to itOriginally posted by Iron Condor View PostYes you are an idiot. The second agent could now bad mouth you to the client.
Could say that they have worked with you in the past and you were unprofessional/trouble maker etc
if it doesnt work, change it

Had the same thing yesterday and did the same as you.Originally posted by TheFaQQer View PostSo do you recommend letting the agent put you forward multiple times, then? Or just say that you're not interested in that particular role?
I've been rung twice this afternoon for the same role, which I spoke to an agent about yesterday. I've told the two agents this afternoon that I'm already in - I guessed the client based on the location, and that's as far as the chat went with each of them.
Multiple representation is not a good thing.
