I feel I must mourn the fact that a thread by z has reached 3 pages. Along with my good self he used to be one of the main posters of threads that nobody ever responded to. Must have been taking lessons. Pandering to low taste that's what I call it.

Yes, we had datasheets for WOMs going around my old firm. God, this place is nostalgic sometimes.
Unfortunately our Director of Engineering wasn't funny. Instead, he concentrated on bragging to the company's engineers and draftsmen how his CAE/CAD/CAM systems would replace their jobs. How to win friends and influence people, eh? After he resigned, he blagged his way into a job as Technical Director of a CAD/CAM company that subsequently sank without trace.
As it happens, he was rather thin and always wore the same dark green suit and tie - he looked a bit like a lizard...

...ah the term begins.
Does that mean you had an incredibly long holiday?
...on a caribbean beach for example.

These days it's all schematic capture & pretty pictures and stuff.
Still have to put the ground in to make it converge though...
We also used Daisy Systems for CAE. I think they went bust.

The new term starts next week...
I'm losing the will to live...
the sheer joy and anticipation of describing
1. the stores ordering system
2. the common emitter amplifier & how to simulate it using a variety of spice
3. how to build said common emitter amplifier on a bread board using components provided from the stores by yours truly...
I wish I was a contractor again.
Ah, that was then, and this is now.
I don't do that any more since that piece of software was retired about 3 years ago & I couldn't be arsed to learn the new one.
Not only that, but the esteemed customers now get a fortnight of "computational thinking" to prepare them for the horror that is engineering of software and hardware.
I wonder which girlie that was.
At this distance in time I have no recollection at all.Tags: None
