I actually feel sorry for any right leaning voters in the US.

Imagine the Tory party celebrated dumbness and derided intellectuals as being dangerous and was in thrall to the Christian right. You end up with a potential president, and a potential presidential candidate in four years, when McCain loses, like Sarah Palin - she is dangerously stupid!

Palin herself is pushing this "idea". Shelley Powers called her on it last week. From one of Shelley's responses to a comment on that post:

"...She plays to the least of us—the crowd that celebrates mediocrity, all the while saying that we need a free market system in order to filter out mediocrity...

...She caters to those who fear anyone who is different, gives a wink and a nod to the racists among us, and celebrates both the petty and the puerile...

But Palin angers me specifically because her actions countered what we have worked so hard the last several decades to fight: that women can make it without having to be a combination of Mom and Whore.

(Disclosure: Shelley asked me to be a technical reviewer for one of her programming books, although sadly other matters got in the way and I couldn't help, but obviously I'm biased in her favour. This doesn't mean she's wrong.)

I seriously think the only people who can support Palin are either:-

    a. Rightwing fundy christians
    b. Guys who who spend too much time on MILF-hunter websites
    c. Gullible lower-middle-class women from idaho who watch too much Oprah and think Sarah Palin is standing up for their rights
    d. Moose-hunters
    e. people who are just obviously insane (note: not to be confused with those from group 'a' above, who also also fit into this category)

Quality trolling! I don't know whose sockpuppet you are, but if getting it all out of your system like this helps you to get back to a state of mental stability without the need for medical intervention, then carry on - our health services have better things to do than to muck about with your paranoid delusions

What exactly does that even mean? Are you confusing Islam with terrorism, or would you say the same if he was a "Jewish sympathiser"?
Thats such a good point, I'm going to second it
Indeed. It seems to come from the "Most terrorists are Muslims, therefore most Muslims are terrorists" school of... well, you can't call it thought. School of fallacy, perhaps.

As opposed to Mccain who (like the previous administration) will be taking money from Oil, Big Pharma, the NRA, Big Dairy etc and worst of all, those hideous right-wing fundamentalist nutters who wanna teach ID in schools and give everyone a gun to protect 'Merica from the UN, and kill the evil Islamic terrorists (read: anyone of arabic descent) who are trying to attack Americas stand on Freedom (despite the evidence that America is the biggest terrorist 'organisation' in the world today).

Its worth remembering that Bush with his pseudo-religious right wing beliefs and all the like-minded cronies he has in his adminstration is responsible for the mess in Iraq (the WoMD lie) and Afghanistan and the appalling mess the States is now in. McCain and Palin would just be a continuation of the same. McCain has rightly been accused of being 'George Bush in loafers'.

Keep the right wing fundies away from the White House!

I think I read something about how it was the Obama camp that initiated the investigation. How is that possible when it was on way before she was announced?

Anyway...its beginning to get desperate for the Republicans with about three weeks left. This Palin dog trick does not appear to have worked.

Given that she has been inciting her nutty supporters to hate Obama so much that they scream "kill him" at her speeches....when he gets elected next month and then gets assassinated between then and January - will she be arrested?
