    Used to, and maybe bootleg stuff still does. But one of the active ingredients thujone was banned when they discovered it damages the nervous system.

    No wormwood in it these days, and it was never really that bad to begin with. Most of the "sends you mad, turns you blind" stuff was actually negative propaganda by temperance groups and the winemakers association.
