They've all got them at my current site, purple for local permies, blue for central office permies, thus if you're not wearing one they all know you are contractor scum !
They know your contractor scum anyway as your watch is probably worth more than most of thier cars you don't need a polo shirt to identify you...
Brentwood was very des res and a stockbroker belt in and of itself.
There's still a number of homes there for the high flyers, though most are now middle aged and retired doctors and the such.
I remember a time when Brentwood, like Billericay, was the home of well-to-do folks, and on a Saturday you would see Mrs. Marple look-a-likes in their finest tweeds or barbour doing shopping at the local delis.
Now both are Chavsville.
Even my old stomping ground, Stock and Ramsden Heath have suffered from the Basildon overspill.
I suppose permie baiting should be banned. But whenever permies ask me for change I always say "sorry - nothing less than a fifty". Cracks me up every time.

Not a bit - I thought it was a very sound point and well worth making.
I'll look out for sad gits wearing polo shirts round here, but I don't think many people play polo in Brentwood, and come to think of it I'm not sure what a polo shirt looks like.
"A parody like no other. Truth be told, this polo has a 95% success rate for being a conversation starter with the opposite sex. cotton 100% cotton polo with 2 button plackard. Limited quantities."
