Personally, I would consider avoiding the M60 area at that time and go the M1 route.

If possible, get onto the M60 at 3pm - no worries than. Either that, or, leave it until 6-6:30.

    Where's the smug git smiley?

I left the office today at 4. Back in again Wednesday. I like working part time at a huge daily rate.

    I'm going down the M5 and I'm hoping it's not a job.

The M62 always seems quicker as it's closer than the M56 and certainly requires me to be on the M60 for less distance.

Off to find that highways agency website where they do live updates and show what they're displaying on their electric roadsigns. Probably "fog" or "queue ahead" as usual.

Edit: Apparently "Gritting in progress" on the M40. Yeah right.

Going down south tomorrow evening and not sure whether to risk going around manchester via the M60/M62 to the M6 or going the long way round of the M65 to the M6.

I'll probably put the car on cruise control (1mph) and have a bit of a stroll alongside it. Maybe even try some roof surfing, and raise some cash offering the other motorists a windscreen wash.

I had a pleasant drive in this morning as the traffic near Altrincham was light. The birds are singing and I cracked a biggish bug in the clients application.
