What happened to the knitted cat?
PS I was still thinking of Glastonbury as a good old hippy thing ( I was at the Isle Of Wight me!) but actually looking online at who they have had including dreary Oasis I guess hiphop is hardly any worse. Bring back Hendrix I say, even long dead he could still play better.Last edited by xoggoth; 14 April 2008, 15:39.

Its inverted racism that people are kicking off at Jay z, I don't care what people say. He is not your ordinary rapper and if you were going to pick a hip hop star to do a traditional festival it would be him. Aren't festivals about being inclusive to all anyway?
A quick note on Oasis, they have made 1.5 decent albums, they are not even in the top 10 bands to come out of Manchester in the last 15 years, never mind the UK.
If you want to listen to the newest and best band to come out of gods own city have a listen to these boys who have recently been signed by Polydor and are from Middleton.

Glastonbury went down hill when the It Girls and assorted trendies started attending i.e. circa mid 90s. As much as I can't stand Oasis I have to agree with him.

Some would say it already has, of course, but why hip hop? It's not exactly new music either.
- the last 3 years the weather has been terrible (the mud/rain of 2005 was of epic proportions) and people are generally fed up of it
- other festivals released tickets and line ups way before glasto
- the cost of tickets (although good value for money in my opinion) means that people usually have to choose just 1 festival nowadays.
