London's much better than the place I come from.
But I've noticed 2 odd things about Londoners

(1) You can get to a pedestrian crossing, find 2 dozen of them already waiting, and yet nobody's pressed the button. You have to shove through 3 rows of them to get to it and press it yourself

(2) They put their umbrellas up when it's cloudy but not actually raining

(1) That will be the killer cyclists

(2) My girlfriend does that and people comment about it in the street

The average common sense factor is zero.

Great The husband of a friend of mine works for the underground and recently told me 'that no one takes a day sick on the underground as it looks too dodgy so they always take a week instead', this guy had a taken a week of sick so he could decorate his house, what about doing it in the 6-8 weeks holiday he gets a year !

I used to do this when I was a permie. I had a "chronic chest infection" but still managed to fit a new kitchen and do a garden makeover, all on full sick pay for a few weeks. One of the only great things of being a permie was 5 weeks paid holiday plus 3 on the "sick" every year.
