I do between about 15 minutes and 4 hours - so that's 3% to 50%. On a really, really busy day, maybe 75%.

On those weeks when I only work 3 days, I'm more productive per day that those weeks I work 5 days. But the client is very happy with my productivity, and that's what matters.

The fact that I can do in one hour what takes them a day helps this perception.

Varies for me too. I've worked quite hard for the last 6 weeks or so as I had a big load of stuff to do before the end of my contract (finished about 3 weeks too soon). Now I'm just training my replacement.
I think big companies waste much money due to ineffective management and lack of coordination of team efforts ( compared to cost of contractors )

In my last contract, solidly from when I arrived (between 8:30 and 9:00)through to when I left (between 5:00 and 5:30), didn't even take a lunch break most days. As the most senior (software) engineer on a team of 4 I virtually single handedly directed the project to a, not quite, on-time completion.

In the current contract, about 45 minutes a day (most days arriving at 8:45 and leaving at 16:15). I'm one of 400 people doing numpty work on a project running 9-12 months late. Oh and I'm on about 25% more money here.

Guess which type contract I would like next!

Woman , I don't care about this and I have OCD ! Not getting worried about being sacked is my professional rule number 1. It was the greatest wisdom I inherited after my very first job , where I worked for 4 years.

Is it legal? Do I need any special equipment or training? Can anyone do it? Is it safe? Is there a club I can join to learn more about it?

Some days from the min I get in to the min I leave, other days nothing, the most I have done today is ring up the help desk to get my voicemail password reset.

Again, can wildly differ day to day depending on deliverables, my state of awakeness, other personal things going on that I need to sort etc. There is no 'typical' day. 30 mins to 9 hours.

I'd say about 8 hours per day.

Then again I've got 1 main client whose offices I sit in a 3 clients where I do the work off-line.

So I sit at ClientCo office and work on other clients work and bill both. Nice IR35 pointer and a nice invoice creater as well.

So the more work I do the more I get paid (or in reality the less I do when I get home).
