Parents of Madeleine deny film plan

    http://uk.reuters.com/article/topNew...59072220080109
LONDON (Reuters) - The parents of missing girl Madeleine McCann have denied media reports that they are planning to turn the story of their daughter's disappearance into a film.

"We can categorically deny that we are considering a movie about Madeleine's disappearance. This is simply untrue," her father Gerry wrote on his blog.

"...there was a preliminary discussion between a production agency and a representative of Kate and I to discuss the possibility of a documentary about the issues we have faced since Madeleine was abducted".

If the film is "based on" then it's highly unlikely to be accurate. What's the name of the film?

Sorry but I hope this one sinks without trace. Plenty of other missing children who need publicity.

Agreed. Thanks to the "meedya" everyeone knows what has happened and what is happening so why would anyone need to go and see a film about it?
There was a film released a few years ago about the dingo baby case - (the parents were convicted of killing their baby but protested that a wild dingo came and did the deed. A few years later they were proved innocent) - with Sam Neil. This case was different though in that it did actually have a conclusion.

It's not going to be much of a film is it. A couple go for a meal and lose a kid. There is no ending to it. Either somebody took her or the parents did something. Until we know one way or the other how are they going to end it. I'd wait a while until a body turns up before I invested in the film.

Well I for one think it's a brilliant idea and not in poor taste at all.

Look on the brightside. Once it's been released and available straight away in the 'two for a fiver' aisle in your local blockbusters (blueray format no less), the police can rent a copy and use it 'shed new light' on their enquiries.

My mum's work-colleague's brother used to drink with some of the group that went holiday with the McCanns.

But I shan't voice my 4th-hand opinion of them here: it's only a matter of time before the Daily Express offers cold, hard cash for it.

    Pah...amateurs.

No I'm not taking the piss. It sounds like you are taking the 'piss' though with all that boozing that is messing up your faculties.
