    I believe the ceremony is somewhat more straightforward than that; it just involves reciting some numbers personal only to you, from a piece of plastic.

    I think it's genuine. It doesn't ask for your bank details, and the email is a Spanish address, which is near the UK, sort of, so I think you've won!
