    Right I can achieve the same rate in the UK as I can in Vienna, what do you go for?

    Food is cheaper as is eating out however decent accommodation is not far off different.

    I've spent new years twice now in St Marcs square, Italians party with style and risk with minimum control... none of your health and safety nonsense. Firecrackers let off in one hand a glass of champers in the other...

    I once got told by a German Turk not to go to Vienna at New Years because the Italians decend on mass, go wild and spend the whole time setting firecrackers off.

    Bratislava. Seriously - it's about an hour's drive or you can go on the train, again about an hour.

    Houses are considerably cheaper.

    Not quite too sure where the airport is as I drove there but I did stay in the World Trade Center, which was a shock. Thats a large building area which could be it...

    BTW, anyone know what those two enormous buildings near to the airport are?
    They look like normal detached houses, only scaled up about ten times....

    There was an awful lot of building going on around the airport in 2007.

    I flew BA from Manchester and Berlin Air from Belfast/Stanstead.
