I stuck a bit of old cardboard box up in last place and was told to remove it under pain of termination, it made the place look untidy.

JH edges it for me.
Isnt this a marvellous thread - about Sunny Days ?
Was a sunny day
Not a cloud was in the sky
Not a negative word was heard
From the people passing by
twas a sunny day
All the birdies in the trees
And the radios singing song
All the favorite melodies
And how about this one ?
I need to laugh, and when the sun is out
I've got something I can laugh about
I feel good, in a special way
I'm in love and it's a sunny day
We take a walk, the sun is shining down
Burns my feet as they touch the ground
Then we lie beneath a shady tree
I love her and she's loving me
She feels good, she know she's looking fine
I'm so proud to know that she is mine
Good day sunshine !

Denny,
Indeed, I'm a fan of all of Agatha's works. Dear old Joan was definitely the best MM in my view. Margaret Rutherford and Geraldine McEwan portrayed the character far too lightheartedly for my liking.

Several years ago when I worked at a similarly orientated desk (i.e. where the sun shone so much on the screen from the window behind me in the afternoon that I couldn't see a thing) I took some A3 sheets of paper from the photocopier and stuck them up on the window behind me with sellotape (sorry, sticky backed plastic) in just the right place to dim the worst of the afternoon sun. I also wrote across the paper in big black pen "Miss Marple's Blind".
It only took a couple of weeks for the Powers That Be to decide a proper set of blinds suited the decor far better (and were less obvious to the MD as he walked through) than my makeshift set.
Mind you, I was permie at the time so that probably helped...

What A Lovely Day
The sun shone beautifully today. So much so, that I couldn't get a single piece of work done this afternoon. The sun shines straight onto my TFT screen that I couldn't see a bl00dy thing.
Asked if the maintenance bloke could put some kind of a blind up and he looked at me in that "**** off you cash-grabbing consultant toss-bag" kind of look.
I do hope it sunshines tomorrow.Last edited by Kyajae; 30 April 2007, 20:28.Tags: None
