T2 diabetic so I get the Libre 2 sensor, it's great (obviously would rather not have diabetes, but that's another story). I connect to my Android phone and with the latest version it's a constant monitor. Previously the phone used NFC to read the sensor, so had to be physically held against it to be read, now it doesn't. Free trial for 1 libre2 sensor, I got mine issued from the hospital diabetic consultant rather than the GP. I had to prick test before and after every meal and it got very painful. Even if I had to pay I would, no going back now.

Edit - There are hacks on YT to make the sensor last 4 weeks, instead of 2.

Strikes me they could make the sender a plugin and reduce the cost to £10 for the needle.

I have met a few using the patch and they seemed to like it. AIUI if you are type1 then its free on the NHS.

Plenty of even type 2 diabetics have a low BMI. I met lots at the various clinics.

One lady I met was naturally near anorexic and had a sensor which she told me she got along well with.

Indeed lots of people don't understand diabetes.

Type 1 its genetic and you are born with it insulin & Diet may help. Type 2 may be genetic but could be controlled by diet if you are lucky.

Anyone can develop type 2 diabetes but it mostly affects people over 25 often with a family history.

Type 2 diabetes doesn't just affect people living with overweight or obesity, although this is one of the risk factors, along with ethnicity.

Some can drive insulin pumps and I have seen a few with this.

if you are having regular hypos then say goodbye to your driving licence if not well managed.

Currently having too many of them with fluctuating sugar levels and having to vary insulin dosage and test four times a day. Has anyone used a "Dexcom" transmitter as an alternative and how did get got on. My other thoughts are to wait until next year with the launch of non-invasive testers using microwaves. BTW: Not all diabetics are fat or overweight me included.
