Better still try the heavily moderated part of the forum dedicated to these.

There are two threads on there that mention Pembroke specifically which might be of interest.

Loan schemes
Hi,
Has anyone previously been involved with loan schemes and had to pay back HMRC? Were there any penalties involved and did you pay full tax on said loans? I know these umbrella companies already take 20% of the clients wage so do HMRC take that into account?
I was using pembroke umbrella for over 2 years and was asked to file SA forms for those years. will be grateful for any advice, thanks.
