Seen it on the Royal Caribbean ships which is when someone told me what it meant but haven't seen it on the few more recent P&O ones I've been on so maybe we are a bit more reserved. Not that secret it seems as one lot had a flag with it on which they had with them when sunbathing on deck. Everyone else on board seemed to know what it meant. I guess it isn't something most people need to know I suppose but it appears it's been used in that meaning since the 1960's, it's been in Urban Dictionary since 2006 and most people on the US cruises seemed to know it.
Somewhat related but on the cruise announcement boards there is always the single travellers meet and the Friends of Dorothy meets. The latter being the LBQT meet up. Saw Friends of Bill W on the last cruise which I've not seen before and no one seemed to know what it was. It's actually the Alcoholics Anonymous meet. Bill W being William Wilson who formed the AA. It was interesting to find out and slightly amusing their meet up point was the Glasshouse Bar but that is more likely because I'm immature and giggle at things like that.
