So, a Tory Scum safe seat somehow got a very rich, very young person with a US green card to be elected as MP in the first place, then somehow becomes Chancellor and only upon visit to US decides to give up his US permanent residency?
Who and how much was paid (either by money or favarous) to get him selected in the frist place?
Would Rishi or Boris for that matter would have EVER gained lawfully top clearance that their job surely requires?

There's a great opportunity for that coming up before too long. All Boris & co need do is repeal the Demise of the Crown Act (1901). Then when HMQ pops orf, all senior civil servants will be immediately sacked by default, after which the cabinet can decide who to let back!
The snag is, I wonder if the Government itself would also be dissolved in that event, so in repealing the act they would be sawing the branch off on the wrong side!

"The taxman has been urged to investigate whether the Chancellor's wife broke the terms of her non-dom status by giving her UK company £4.3 million in interest-free loans.
Tax experts said the personal loans to Akshata Murty's venture capital firm, Catamaran Ventures UK, fall into a 'grey area' of the rules and last night called for HM Revenue & Customs to investigate.
The loans could 'circumvent' the basis of her non-dom status if they were found to give her 'monetary or non-monetary returns' – whether through profits or by exerting influence – it was claimed."

Alternatively she could just 'remit' the offshore money for prior years to the UK this year, then the tax will be due this year.

It gets better...
"Although Murty has committed herself to paying UK tax on her foreign earnings, she is not promising to pay back tax she saved from the arrangement over the past decade.
...
However, Murty will retain her non-domiciled status and will continue to benefit from India’s policy of not taxing inheritance."

Ah, so now that they got caught she'll pay taxes ... for the current tax year - what about previous years plus interest plus penalties?
