He would have survived if they called an ambulance but the prison guard phoned his boss as said that McAfee was hanging. The guard was put him through to tec support who advised leave for five minutes and then switch off and back on again.

Killed himself few hours after court ruled he will be extradited to USA where he was going to get his well earned 30 years for tax evasion, naturally US kills him right after that court ruling in Spanish prison instead of doing it when he was in his yacht in international waters, that makes sense.
