No they aren't. Most want to go to Germany or the US out of Western nations. Others just go to the nearest safe company.

Might do, maybe go to Israel, serve few years, then join Mossad and spend some quality time hunting big mouth anti-semies tulips

Just because you're seeking asylum doesn't mean you're not vain.

The fact is, once you land on these shores, quite literally, you will remain here indefinitely. First few years in some asylum center and then given permission to work and eventually a British passport. Met several Afghan asylum seekers now working as taxi drivers for Uber.

Hardly misleading the suggestion was that we should deport asylum seekers that had crossed safe continents then lied about their ages when they claimed asylum here. I pointed out that we were unable to deport illegal immigrants that were gang rapists and preyed on the disabled, we were hardly going to do anything about a few liars. You sort of proved the point by rushing to their defence.

Before anyone gets confused and accuses me of racism if deportation of British rapists to Australia or the Americas (as they were in the 17-18th century) was still an option I would be tempted to support that. Oh sorry we hung rapists then.
