It is not, the rulling class is considering it similar to anarchy, people have too much freedom to do what they want. The constuct they’ve used in the past with long mortgages and expensive boxes will not keep people into place.Originally posted by GhostofTarbera View PostAnd why do this if WFH is the future
You won’t be able to use the rent extraction mechanism so suddenly people can relocate anywhere and save too much.
Just my two cents.
Anyone that has any thougts on rents? Plenty of people have left the country but with no effect yet, or I do not have the information.

One would have thought that with house pricing going up and up that would result in higher quality, bigger builds.
Not in this country.

I loved my 1930s semi a few years back. Mind you the garage was built for a small 1930s car.Originally posted by PCTNN View PostDon't get me started. Went to view a couple of new builds and they were just obscene!
Most ridiculous things I've seen were:
- house with 2 bathrooms, main one plus en-suite. The main bathroom had a bath tub but NO shower head.
- same house, the living room had 2 radiators EXACTLY in the middle of the 2 main walls.
- single garage where the owners could not fit their car (vw polo)
Went to view an end of terrace built in the 1930's and it felt like a castle compared to the new builds. Big rooms, walls made of bricks rather than wood and plasterboard, big garden, reasonably big garage. Came with a problem though, which was the dealbreaker: the mid-terraced house had right of way through the garden. Don't want that in my property.
