There are probably better alternatives. I do think you're right that it will cause people to intentionally get infected.

I don't give a tulip if it's fair or not, life is not fair. Is it fair that some people got covid-19 and died and others didn't?

If we went down this route I think it would be incredibly irresponsible.

Can you imagine how divisive it would be ? People would be deliberately looking to infect themselves so they can start working / traveling etc.
