All of the numbers are fake in that they are not accurate. That can only change by widespread testing of both those with the virus and those that have had it. Seeing as there is lack of capacity of the former and so far no accurate test for the latter then yes all the EU countries are doing same as Germany and the UK and every other country in the world, putting up some numbers that may or may not be a true reflection of the situation. No one can be certain of that without the aforementioned comprehensive testing, and perhaps even autopsies to check cause of death is 'due to virus' and not 'with virus'.

The only accurate number (if published) is the total percentage of deaths (from any cause) against population, and how that compares to historical averages for this time of year to see how much of an impact the virus is really having in terms of death rate.

Not accurate is not fake - with high degree of accuracy or even low but estimateable such numbers still very useful.

Anyone happy with how China have gone about things in recent decades is a moron. I wouldn't shed a tear if the dog eating ***** were wiped out economically. They'll use this pandemic to strengthen their grip on the limp wristed world though.

Same as any other country. The sooner they can be seen to having it under control the sooner they can attempt to unfreeze their economy. The UK is already massaging the figures by not including those dying outside of hospital so people think the lockdown is only weeks away from being relaxed.

There is a difficult decision ahead to not kill the economy and the negative impact a prolonged lockdown will have on the vast majority in terms of mental/physical/economical health to save a small percentage of the population that will experience the more severe symptoms and risk death.

Without mass testing and contract tracing of any outbreaks to isolate them early there will be a price to pay in human lives to save the economy for the rest, which is why they're still building those temp nightingale hospitals to give more capacity when they start relaxing the lockdown in coming weeks. By then people will be used to the death stats and will be desperate enough to return to normal (such as it will be) to earn money and get their kids back in school that they will tolerate it even as it rises as it inevitably will until a vaccine is found.

Maybe they'll have the mass testing and isolation in place by summer so new normal can return without just letting it run through the population knocking over the vulnerable, then lockdown will end.

Counting criteria
Testing regimes
Incompetence
Truthfulness

Ok, let’s assume this is all true and that all of those owners died from Covid.

That would give us 22 mln dead, at 3% mortality that means 600 mln were supposedly infected.

Could that have happened over 3 months period with harsh Chinese style lockdowns?

No chance since we have just 2 mln infected in whole world and over 100k deaths - and infection was spreading quicker than initially in China.

So, all that phone BS, even if true, got nothing to do with Covid deaths in China.
