This is an anti-pattern. I don’t recall many (any?) threads started by millennials to express their offence. There are plenty started by the boomer snowflakes where they are offended by almost anything, however.

Describing somebody's actions as "virtue signalling" is itself virtue signalling.

Corollary: any action so described is always just somebody behaving decently, and the person so describing it is not as virtuous as they like to think they are.
