Around 238 for me - Not a lot of holidays, but a month looking in the mid-year doldrums.
Been taking a lot of weekend breaks, and a lot of home working opportunities, with the client also being local, so not too bad. I am aiming for a good couple of months off around the spring time to re-charge.

Bit of a strange one - 3 different day rates across the year so billable days v total revenue/profit before tax are very much two different things. More successful than I'd expected in April, so it's all good.

Yup. If you can successfully two projects alongside each other and the client is satisfied with both the quantity and quality of work you are delivering each day/week then fair play. Unless you're charging an hourly rate, you should be focussed on results, not clock watching.Originally posted by Platypus View PostSeriously?
If project/client requirements and deliverables are all on time and on-spec, who cares if it takes 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 or 8 hours to do the work?

Just checked, I'm on 205 at the end of today, so reckon I'll come in 225/226. Happy with that.

Thanks, that's why I asked.Originally posted by pr1 View PostExactly... it's easier to get paid £400/day and get an agreed days work done in 4 hours than try to convince someone to pay me £800/day
Personally, currently, I wouldn't have the capacity to do much more in a day, but totally understand what you are getting at in monetary terms there

It's great that so many of those punched card looms are still operating.Originally posted by mudskipper View PostWhy? Do you enjoy what you're doing? I'm a fair bit older than you - I like dev work. I've given project management a go, and I could probably do an adequate job of it, but it's not what I enjoy. I know I could command significantly more if I got into it, and/or worked in London, but I do well enough in my provincial WFH gig, and would rather be happy and comfortable than rich and miserable.
