Hmmm....... inneresting.
The bell weather country for all this nonsense vis a vis what is heading our way is Canada.
Yes, really.
An example I was made aware of recently concerns the Canadian state broadcaster which has decreed that the song "Dreadlock Holiday" by 10cc will be added to a list of banned songs owing to the fact that it contains the homophobic lyric "Don't queer on me pitch".
Completely barking mad!
I can't imagine a band as anodyne as 10cc being capable of generating a furore that would do little more than pull the skin off a rice pudding.
Now, if they'd had them on cultural appropriation that may have been a slightly different matter.....
While I'm at it, I was watching some 1950s Daktari cum Born Free style flick on BBC Television last week prior to which a warning was issued telling us that the film contained "colonial themes likely to cause offence". I presume they were referring to the way in which all the coolies were addressing the white men as "Bwana" or something.

If you are a straight white make you are always wrong, even if you are right you are wrong because you are abusing white privilege.
It's because you're thick.

The Guardian didn't like it when I pointed out illustrating a story about head scarves with a face veil was OTT. I know they got a few complaints as some where in the comments section so didn't dare use the wrong image again.

You don't have to look to far on the Left for women, gay and poor people pointing this out.

I think it's fairly safe to say that none of the mods are liberals, and certainly not those types who turn a blind eye to the misogyny, racism and homophobia of certain parts of the Muslim community.
It is a favourite argument of the racist, misogynistic and/or homophobic right, that anyone who calls them out is a liberal of the aforementioned type. Or an unreconstructed leftie like Corbyn.

You shouldn't live your life in fear of an occasional nut job.
Thanks for the Popper link. Will take a look.
I worked over in Belfast a few years back and same thing, say something out of turn to do with religion and you could be in serious trouble.

All the guy did was wish Christians a Happy Easter and some nut job was straight up the motorway to kill him for "disrespecting" Islam.
That is the level of bat tulip crazy we are talking about, like I said bravo to you for calling that tulip out.
On a related note i think Karl Popper had this nailed back in 1945, "The Paradox of Tolerance". I think it sums up the danger of current left wing liberal dogma quite nicely.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paradox_of_tolerance
Less well known is the paradox of tolerance: Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them.
In this formulation, I do not imply, for instance, that we should always suppress the utterance of intolerant philosophies; as long as we can counter them by rational argument and keep them in check by public opinion, suppression would certainly be unwise.
But we should claim the right to suppress them if necessary even by force; for it may easily turn out that they are not prepared to meet us on the level of rational argument, but begin by denouncing all argument; they may forbid their followers to listen to rational argument, because it is deceptive, and teach them to answer arguments by the use of their fists or pistols. We should therefore claim, in the name of tolerance, the right not to tolerate the intolerant.

Does that clarify things?
I do sometimes think European far right wing nuts would be happier in a misogynistic and homophobic dictatorship like Saudi.
