I thought it was common knowledge and that he'd come out before not that it matters. He was a fantastic athlete, he's a great presenter, an all round good egg

He's not reliant on "behaving" for the sponsors these days. Any sort of "controversy" might have cost him a lot of money, so far better to keep one's head below the parapet. Now it doesn't matter, and it's probably a great weight off his mind.
