the stupidity of lottery ticket buyers was boundlessthe chances are greater of your dying in a flight than winning the lotteryI just turned on my PC to do the lottery. Mind you, I am not a total idiot as I always greatly increase my chances by taking advice from my little puppet parrot.Yeh, agreed, total idiots
PS by chances of winning there, you mean expectation of winning a jackpot. On the rare occasions I bother, I actually win quite a lot, probably get about 60% back. Seem to recall there's a legal requirement WRT winning proportion. The hope that one will win something big is quite a nice return for about ten quid a year! The real idiots are the people who keep spending money they can't afford.Last edited by xoggoth; 15 June 2017, 19:06.

A friend of mine used to mock people queuing up to pay their 'stupid tax' for the lottery, until I pointed out he was queuing to buy cigarettes.Originally posted by MrMarkyMark View PostYeh, agreed, total idiots.
They should stake their money on safer bets, like a Tory election win

Jesus, can't you forget about Brexit for just one thread?!Originally posted by northernladyuk View PostSo what? That's a mere five or six days worth of the additional funding the NHS will be receiving post-Brexit.
Back on topic, it isn't only the jackpot odds that have increased.
The price per line has doubled, and I believe is soon due to increase even more.

I remember remarking here back then how inevitable this outcome seemed, and someone pointed out that the stupidity of lottery ticket buyers was boundless and the increased number of rollovers would encourage punters to buy even more tickets despite the greatly reduced odds of winning.
But it seems the ticket buyers aren't so dumb after all, and the thread title refers to the greed and stupidity of Camelot!
So what? That's a mere five or six days worth of the additional funding the NHS will be receiving post-Brexit.The drop meant its donations to health, education and sport fell by some £273m
