Well, I suggested a possibility. And itdoes indeed turn out not to be the case that the maps aren't faked. But there is no pre-emptive airbrushing. That's just willful stupidity.Originally posted by vetran View Postoh dear looks like you are wrong...
The preamble says:
The whole paper is about the future of new EU-27 EU (i.e. the current EU-28 minus Britain), therefore it is correct in that context to leave the UK out of the discussion and indeed the maps. Quite simple and sensible really. No conspiracy, no-one has been caught out, nothing to crow about. On 1 March 2017, the European Commission presented a White Paper on the future of Europe. It marked the starting point for a wide debate on the future European Union with 27 Member States.

Reading in a local German paper about some EU bureaucrat demanding that they move Airbus into the EU as well, already plans for ESA, Euratom and CERN to move out of UK, that is worrying.

What did Jacob Rees Mogg's nanny have to say about it?Originally posted by vetran View PostBritain airbrushed out of EU maps two years before Brexit | Daily Mail Online

Bit previous...
one can forgive them, the UK would be dark blue which would be embarrassing.

That's about the sum of it.Originally posted by TestMangler View PostWhat ? Are you suggesting that Vetran has reposted a load of complete tulipe because it fits with the way his Brexit brain works, without actually worrying about its validity first ?
That hasn't happened since the last load of tulipe he posted.

oh so if we say they aren't official then its OK? They spent money 2 years before our leaving date producing a complete document excluding us.Originally posted by meridian View PostPut the paper within it's context, and you get your answer. These aren't "official European Commission maps". It's right there in the forward:
At some point the EU will start making plans and discussing options for an EU27 without the UK, you can expect the usual tripe from Jacob Rees-Mogg.
I suppose we should be impressed they are thinking ahead, if only they had done that on other things.

I notice that includes the USA, Canada, Russia, Australia, South Africa and Brazil, but the UK is of no relevance to anyone.Originally posted by vetran View Post

oh dear looks like you are wrong...Originally posted by NotAllThere View PostUnless - and I know this is really out there - the map is faked. I've not found a document concerning EU unemployment rates for 2017 that has this map, and the latest press release from the EU still shows Britain.
