    On the other hand, good iOS developers are hard to come by because they prefer to stick to employers/clients who know what iOS development means. I've seen investors from major venture capital firms beg some of the best Android and iOS devs to work for the startups they put money in and the devs said "no", because the startups were badly run and the mobile developers were not being listened to or they were expected to do things outside their remit, like write backend software / implement APIs / do "everything else".     iOS is in high demand, everyone wants an app making so I imagine a high proportion of iOS developers are freelance or working for app-development companies?

    Maybe you need to get someone good and train them, or offer to let them have time to train themselves.

    Is the location of your offices a problem? Is there a wealth of local talent available for other roles? Is there another place fairly local to you that attracts the talent instead? e.g. You are based in Peterborough and all the talent heads to Cambridge?
