I prefer to stay in Lauterbrunnen to Grindelwald as it opens up the Murren/Birg side, but you have the faff of the trains.
-
not bad for grindelwald as the resort is stupidly low, 900m? like Chamonix.

Last time I was there all the hotels were run by the mafia, which was nice.

We don't ski but when we stay in Lapland it is in the neighbourhood of Yllas which is a very popular (maybe the most) amongst Finns. They're big into cross-country skiing too and the resort has a bunch of slopes although my understanding is they're still using old-fashioned ski-lifts.
Any skiers able to comment?

Just had a week of boarding at Silverstar in Canada which I thought was a fantastic resort with a really friendly atmosphere:Originally posted by GrumpyContractor View Postany suggestions?
those featuring a proliferation of ghastly Chanel Moncler skiwear clientele need not be suggested.
Silver Star Mountain Resort |
If you go, try and do the snow mobiling through the mountain as this was a real highlight

See my earlier post.
Plenty of snow in parts of Europe, very little in France.
