I prefer to stay in Lauterbrunnen to Grindelwald as it opens up the Murren/Birg side, but you have the faff of the trains.

There is no snow in the European resorts at the moment, unless you go further east. That said, steer clear of Pamparovo in Bulgaria as it was awful when we went two years ago now.

Last time I was there all the hotels were run by the mafia, which was nice.

We don't ski but when we stay in Lapland it is in the neighbourhood of Yllas which is a very popular (maybe the most) amongst Finns. They're big into cross-country skiing too and the resort has a bunch of slopes although my understanding is they're still using old-fashioned ski-lifts.

Any skiers able to comment?

Just had a week of boarding at Silverstar in Canada which I thought was a fantastic resort with a really friendly atmosphere:

If you go, try and do the snow mobiling through the mountain as this was a real highlight

This was me a few days ago 90 min drive south of Munich. There is NO SNOW!!! What you see in this picture is white paint. They're lying to you!!!
