It makes a difference if 50,000 children are coming in or 8,000 children are coming in. In the former case the Home Office is incompetent.

And I think I've pointed out before I know people who work with these individuals, and if it becomes know that the Home Office is competent in catching people it would make their working lives easier.

are you suggesting the figures are wrong? If so lets see some proof. Or is your prejudice against the source so great you are unwilling to consider the facts?
Why should I? The DM haven't pointed to any credible sources apart from the Daily Telegraph which I don't think is that much of a credible source

    and of course

Half of 'child' migrants challenged over their age in past decade found to be over 18  | Daily Mail Online

Almost 5,000 refugee ‘children’ who have come to Britain in the past decade have been found to be adults.

Home Office figures reveal there have been 11,121 disputes over the ages of child asylum seekers in that period, with 4,828 – almost 45 per cent – found to be over 18.

nice to see then independent has learnt from the mail how to do clickbait.

You can feel the anger & frustration seething out of the article of course he won't be affected by it and being the proper caring lefty he is trying to sell his tour dates that they screwed the link up on...

Because when you look back at history, at the Huguenots fleeing France or the Jews escaping Germany, the people remembered with pride are those that had the courage to say: “Some of them are over 18 – send them back, the bastards.”

Mark Steel is on tour across Britain now. For more information see marksteelinfo.tour
Next week how sexy am I by Samantha Bricking it & How I would let refugees into one of my many houses by the Ball-Geldoffs but we never seem to get round to it.
