Which would be fine if you were doing that. But you're not. You are expressing yourself in the same way as hate-filled xenophobes do towards Muslims and Islam. And you use the same kind of language in this thread, which has nothing to do with religion.

We're now off topic, so I'm closing the thread.

    Nonsense.

It's interesting because the 'joke' just implies that it would be harder to see dark objects than light objects in low level light conditions. Which is a fact.

And if you put something light markings on the dark item it will be easier to see in low level light conditions. Which is also a fact.

Nowhere does it imply that someone with dark skin had less value than someone with light skin.

Its a crap joke but not really a hate crime.

But I guess that doesn't matter.

Former England football hero Paul Gascoigne is being hauled before the courts for making a dodgy joke on stage. The ex-Spurs star allegedly made a ‘racist’ comment about a black member of security staff during his ‘An Evening With Gazza’ show in Wolverhampton last November.

A local paper, the Express and Star, reports that Gazza looked towards a darkened corner of the stage and told the black security guard that he ‘couldn’t tell if he was smiling or not’. Later, other newspapers suggested he in fact said ‘If you weren’t smiling, I wouldn’t be able to see you’ – a joke that first rose to prominence in the northern comedy scene of the 70s, and was regularly deployed by blue comedians like Bernard Manning.
Leave Gazza alone | Free speech | Sport | spiked

This is the type of nonsense that the police and CPS are quite willing to pursue as a serious hate crime. It's not exactly a burning cross on the lawn.

When wolf whistling is considered a hate crime and you can anonymously report them online I don't see any relevance in quoting the numbers, they tell you nothing.

You are defending and justifying racism and xenophobia. You are as bad as the lefties who defend and justify terrorism on the grounds of exploitation of poorer countries by the West.

Hate crimes surge by 42% since Brexit
Tragically, since the definition of what constitutes a "hate crime" encompasses almost everything from "looking at me in a funny way" and "walking on the cracks on the pavement", this renders such statistics largely pointless.

A total of 3,076 incidents were recorded across the country between 16 and 30 June – a dramatic increase on the 915 reports recorded over the same period in 2015. Hate crimes surge by 42% in England and Wales since Brexit result | Crime | News | The Independent

However, it looks like the figure in my source is a typo, since the earlier paragraph says the uplift is 42%. So let's recast what I wrote using your figures.

But +3000 incidents between 16th and 30th June this year compared with just over 2000, for the same period last year may be indicative of cause for concern.

The referendum was the chance for a lot of folk to say how unhappy they are with the uncontrolled migration.

    Not less that 1000.

Exactly, you can report these 'hate crimes' anonymously online.

It is better to deal with actual convictions which are not that common.
