Well people are clearly posting links to tweets ( SueEllen just posted one there ) and I would rather see it rendered than click on the link to find out what her point was.
Unfortunately with breaking news the only fixed links are from Twitter.

Are there recent, secure vbulletin mods that do this? There are a few old ones that seem to be unmaintained, surprisingly unused, unpopular and probably not that secure...... I suspect that while they appear in the list of mods they may not actually work nowadays...
I see embedded tweeting on loads of PHP forums.
Also you would have to be in suity land to balls it up and make it insecure, twitter provide the HTML to produce the embed, all the BB code has to do is take the tweet ID, validate the number, drop it into the twitter formatted HTML and then render the HTML to the screen.
He was talking about the youtube issue which can simply be resolved by doing a regexp on the url, removing the s on https
Twitter provide a mechanism to embed HTML and not go through PHP, the youtube issue and the work to put in twitter embeds are not related. There are vbulletin mods that allow this.

Did you not notice that NickFitz stated its blooming hard work due to twitter using https....
I've highlighted what needs to be done to fix it, are you volunteering to do it?

Or to put it another way, if we allow tweets and vines, then there will be more false information being spread on here by lazy people not interested in finding out whether something is true or not.
No, you've worked out how to share an image designed to make it look like it came from a Twitter account, but it's fake, hence proving why it's a good idea NOT to have the ability to share Twitter feeds on here.
So to stop people spoofing tweets on here ( which I can currently do ) the forum should not introduce the functionality to embed real tweets?
Do you work in some kind of tape changing capacity?
