When I was on a Leeds contract and able to commute daily on the train to Leeds, I used to see a man use a foldable scooter every day.
He'd get out of the station, open it up and zip off. I think that it would be great if you had a 20-30 minute walk that you wanted to reduce.

The only review I can find from someone who's tried one says she'll be sending it back.

It's the equivalent to one of hose "Stairmaster" exercise machines. Standing up in the pedals on a bike, your arms are still taking some of your weight and you can pull on the handle bars to increase your effort if you need to. Doesn't look possible on that. I'd stick to a normal style folding bike tbh.Originally posted by mudskipper View PostBut it's a different position - you're upright. Would want to try one before parting with my hard-earned.

I think you would be knackered and your work clothes sweaty.
Nice video though - very flat terrain. I bet the girl peddling on the grass didn't go much further!

You wouldn't be able to ride for more than 15 mins before you are knackered. You are essentially lifting your body weight on one leg with every rotation of the pedals.
Theres a reason bikes are still essentially bike shaped.

It actually says on the site that you can go up hills of an 8% incline if the rider is fit.

I noticed that.Originally posted by mudskipper View PostAnd they come in pink
Shop | Halfbike | The compact and light standing bike, anywhere with you!
A valid company purchase, I would think
I only get pink if it's cheaper or would help it be less likely to be nicked.

Yep, folds nicely. Quite tempting - would want to try one first!Originally posted by SueEllen View PostDoes it fold down? Otherwise it's not useful in London as you can't take it on the train or tube. Also it needs to be able to be taken into offices etc so it's not nicked.
