i regularly walk past a bmw/mini show room and just laugh at the 29k asking price for that pile of junkOriginally posted by DimPrawn View PostI knew a contractor that put down a deposit for the Mini Cooper S when it came out all those years ago, without test driving it, pre-launch.
When it arrived he drove it for a few weeks, took it back to the dealers and sold it. Horrific engine with awful noise.
Luckily they were so popular with idiots he got all his money back as people could jump the waiting list.
Now many years later, they are very costly to run, the engine is a joint development between Chrysler and Rover. Total piece of crap. Add the supercharger and you have a nightmare.

Yep the R53 was a piece of tulip in more ways than 1. The R56 (drove one for a year) was a lot more fun 0-60 was far less time than the 7.1 implies...Originally posted by DimPrawn View PostI knew a contractor that put down a deposit for the Mini Cooper S when it came out all those years ago, without test driving it, pre-launch.
