About 8 pages, this was a well researched, interesting piece of Journalism, with links to Churchill and Lady Churchill, moonlight flits, alcoholism, redemption, drunken abusive stepfathers. All based on a rumour someone had told the journo years earlier, he'd done some great investigations for what was a possible rumour. The real father suspected, and on his death bed wanted to see the Archbishop, who was just a few days late. He took the DNA to quash the rumour and discovered it to be true.
From such hard beginnings, the new Archbishop (I didn't know) had worked as a six figure oil executive until 1987 when he changed tack and became a priest. This was in no part due to the fact, that he'd lost his infant daughter in a car crash a few years earlier.
When the revelation came about, he took it all in his stride and his mum fezzed up straight away. Great story, great journalism, I think will win best story of the year at any awards later this year.
I've got a great amount of respect for our new Archbishop. A real role model for those from hard backgrounds (ok, excluding his Eton background obviously)

Archbishop is a bastard
But that hasn't been an impediment to archbishopness for a while, so he's ok.
