See this is the problem with the obesity crisis slowly engulfing the modern world. If it's offensive to point out that over 50% of UK adults are now obese, how on earth can we expect to change their behaviour?
IMO treating obesity with kid gloves is just making it socially acceptable. I think it should go the same way as smoking in public and we try and make it as unacceptable as possible - the fewer fat people I see walking the streets the better!
The alien advert is not that amusing. Not sure about "offensive". The word has become such a dog whistle for pressure groups that now there is almost no point using it. Better say "acceptable". Is the ad acceptable ? Most people would say yes, it is.
I resent that there is nothing wrong with David Lloyd in Derby! In fact ET being more advanced that us would be even more acutely aware of issues such as high cholesterol and diabetes and would favour a low fat diet, ergo he would be more likely to lunch on a muscle bound Arnie rather than his Danny DeVito shaped twin
