Just had the 'Tax summary' for the wife. The portion on 'Welfare' was about the same as that for 'NHS'. Wonder what the overlap is. Wonder if working makes you fitter so you don't need the NHS part as much.

Yes because people out of work are all lazy, shiftless bastards. The distance between your bed and sleeping rough on the streets isn't as big as you'd like to think unless you have a robust welfare state or are independently wealthy. But by all means do the monkey dance and follow America's lead...

Is it odd?Originally posted by NigelJK View PostOdd isn't it how 'Workless' = 'Poverty'.
Is it really odd that lazy workshy fecks who do not get out of bed before midday have less money than those who are at work at 8?
Not really sure that's odd?

Government gets another spanking in the Lords.
This time over trying to redefine Child Poverty measurements without actually including house hold income as a measure.
Government loses major House of Lords vote to redefine child poverty | UK Politics | News | The Independent
The Government has suffered a major defeat in the House of Lords over its plans to change the way that child poverty is measured.
Peers voted 290 to 192 in favour of an amendment to that will force the Government to publish annual figures on income-related child poverty.
Ministers had wanted to scrap income-related measures and replace them with other indicators, including the numbers of children living in workless households.
The plans were opposed by child poverty charities, and have been challenged by the respected social mobility commission, chaired by former Labour minister Alan Milburn, which said last month that it was “not credible” to tackle child poverty without acknowledging “the most obvious symptom of poverty, lack of money”.Tags: None
