    True, hard graft and sacrifice is required, there are plenty, on here, that have taken that route.

    As I said, IMO, you are doing very well.
    Try and "smell the roses", along the way, otherwise you will end up disappointed with life and eternally bitter.

    Personally, in the greater scheme of things, I'm doing alright; and that's been through hard graft, sacrifice, and being smart. But many friends and family are finding it pretty dam tough.

    Heck, for many families 16k would be the good life. I know a couple of familes who do/did survive on £12k or less, I'm sure one (university educated) couple I know can't be earning much more than £10k.     Thanks for that. Quite right the boomers bought them for £20k on 2.5 x lending. Actually I was musing hypotheticals. But what ever.
