It's no more or less dangerous than it was yesterday and recommendations vary from nation to nation.
The limit has been chosen as the point at which you statistically have a 1% chance of dying from alcohol-related causes. Even if that's reliable, it seems a bit risk-averse.

Sorry for your loss, however, making decisions based on the outcome of one person's life is a logical fallacy. Take 500k people who drink heavily and 500k who drink within the limits or not at all and compare their standard of living , health and mortality.Originally posted by VectraMan View PostMy Mum died last year at only 67 from one of those random bad luck things. It does make you think that worrying about living another 50 years or working like a dog now now so you can have a nice pension is all a bit ridiculous.

Whenever I take a hard look at myself I see double. Hic.Originally posted by Unix View PostIf you can't enjoy life without alcohol then you need to take a hard look at yourself.
I've got to admit a lot of the time I drink out of boredem. Which can't be good. I should really make an effort to find something better things to do.

To be quite frank, operating < 70% has worked out very nicely for me.Originally posted by Unix View PostI agree with the new limits. OK you might still live to 70 overindulging in booze, but most of your life will be spent hungover or operating at < 70% and when your drunk making bad decisions.
It also been a feck of a lot of fun

If you have to, you should only go over the limit on special occasions i.e. wedding, stag do etc, a few times a year. If you can't enjoy life without alcohol then you need to take a hard look at yourself.

no its just that their imaginary science free limits weren't irritating enough so they lowered them.Originally posted by VectraMan View PostWhat about 8 hours in front of a computer?
How come they've reduced the limit for men but not for women? Does this mean the average woman now weighs the same as the average man? Or are women just better at handling their alcohol.
This faux science comes from the same bunch that thinks you really do have fire in your belly!
