    well according to Stephen Fry's best 100 gadgets ever which was on over the festive period.

    it should be the cigarette lighter - mainly for it's ability to give us fire at the press of a button when without it (or a match) lighting a fire is a bit difficult

    and once you have fire you can keep warm, cook etc....

    did something similar recently with all the kids photo's and video, about 200GB worth all sitting on hard drives in a draw never accessed

    uploaded to Amazon cloud drive (unlimited photo storage), viewed through Fire TV Stick, they actually have some value now as they're accessible and the kids can entertain themselves by going through old pics too
