If countries with external borders can't police them properly then they should certainly be kicked out from the Schengen zone - with proper policing whoever makes into those countries will stay in there, therefore giving very good incentive to said countries to have proper external border controls (which is their obligation), once they achieve it they can be accepted back to the Zone.

Reading the real reason for the meeting is not what the Daily Fail are reporting but is in fact stronger controls for people entering the Schengen area, in other words it would apply not to the internal but to the external borders of the free-travel zone known as Schengen, of which Britain is not a part. This means that most EU citizens will be subject to long waits going through passport control when entering or leaving the Schengen zone of 26 countries and that most Europeans will be vetted for possible “terrorist” connections. This will hit the British more than others due to not being in the Schengen zone so for those of you of for your dirty weekend in Paris or booze up in Malaguf, you'll now have longer queues...
